Held in the heart of the English countryside, Laura and Paul chose to share their wedding day with just a handful of guests in February 2018. The luxury country destination Thyme in Southrop, Cotswolds was the perfect setting for a beautiful day. Their photographer was Simon Biffen, a master in capturing beautiful moments. Laura wore an Ermine Faux Fur Shoulder Wrap.
Tell us about the big day:
After 20 years together, we knew a traditional wedding wasn’t for us! After much deliberation, we decided to elope with just 6 guests. We visited Thyme in late 2018 and fell in love with the place. A beautiful, intimate venue that prides itself on ‘the love of the land’. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect setting for our big day.
What inspired the design and theme of the day?
Good food and drink and our love for the Cotswold countryside
When did you start planning your dress and accessories?
We organised everything within 3 months of the wedding!
Where did you get your dress?
Taylors Cat in Cambridge
Why did you choose to wear faux fur?
I love faux fur and have been a fan of Helen Moore products for years. However, I didn’t realise they had a bridal collection until I noticed them on Catriona Garforth’s Instagram posts!
Did we help you in any way to make sure your faux fur accessories were perfect?
Yes, I originally ordered the Ermine fur stole but I’m afraid it drowned me. I spoke to Gill from the Helen Moore team who arranged to exchange the stole for the Ermine Shoulder Tie Wrap, which fitted perfectly.
The ribbon wasn’t quite right for me so my mum removed this and replaced with two hook and eye clasps.
What have you done with your faux fur accessory since the big day?
It’s ready and waiting for its next outing! I wanted to make sure I would wear my wedding shoes and accessories again.
Congratulations Laura & Paul!
